Spoilers: TVD S4E17 "Because the Night"

NO!!!! Stop it... Even if they do have just talking scenes, that will still be magical!! Stop giving up!!! If you really cared about Klaroline, you wouldn't give up like that.

Morgan told us it will be a good one, and I trust him. He hasn't steered us wrong yet.

I get why Caroline is so mean to him. In 4x13 when she was ranting about him thinking he could use his 'charm' to get him out of the living room, it was obvious to me that she was mad at herself for ever having melted a little bit under his attentions. Same deal here--she has just been through a lot, including her best friend trying to KILL her, and she's spiraling, as she said. She's angry at herself, more than anything--Elena just called her out on her dirty Klaus thoughts, and if she wasn't right, Caroline wouldn't have gotten so angry when she said it. Truth is the only thing that can make you that mad. How could she do this to her friends? How could she actually LIKE the guy who chased her boyfriend out of town, who killed Elena's Aunt Jenna, who killed her boyfriend's mother, who has been a constant thorn in their side for, what, a year now? I get it--it's self-loathing, and she's just taking it out on him. That's not uncommon, for people to lash out in that way when really it's themselves they're mad at.

I think that soon here (and I'm going to guess 4x18 thanks to Morgan's comments of it being a good one) that we're going to see her actually admit something to this effect, that actually what's true is that she WANTS to hate him, but can't, and that makes her so angry.

They have to move the ship forward from this 'Caroline is mean, Klaus is sad' dynamic sooner or later. We'll take a few steps forward, meet an obstacle, fall back, find a way around it, surge forward, bam--another barrier. Such is the way of television relationships: you keep the viewers turning in with that eternal "Will they or won't they?" dynamic. But they do (and I'm confident they will) have to give us something. Klaus' feelings have been made abundantly clear, everyone is aware of them--we've seen this for a while. But we've never seen any of the characters bring up Caroline's feelings for Klaus, until Elena's 'dirty Klaus thoughts' comment. We're going to see some progress from her end at last--I'm really confident about that. Like I said before, Joseph has never steered us wrong, and he says 4x18 will be a good one, and the Klaroline fan base is huge--again, viewers translate to income, and there is only so long you can tease those viewers without them getting fed up.

If I'm wrong and 4x18 is all about Caroline sacrificing Klaus to Silas and then abandoning him diseased and helpless in the woods to go home and cuddle the Tyler doll she made out of his chest hair, you can all beat me.

I can't wait for Klefan--I just re-watched the 20s flashback episode a little while ago, and, God, I'd forgotten how much I love their bromance--we haven't seen it in such a long while. Klaus just wants a friend, Stefan. And maybe a little comfort sex after Caroline tells him she hates him.

My thoughts exactly. There's a reason Caroline is acting this way and it's not because she really hates him. They've been building up Caroline's internal struggle, we've seen it on screen, and now Elena flat out confronted her about it. It's about time we actually see Caroline admit it and I think we will. If this heart to heart happens when (like JP said) Klaus is diseased and in pain, then it'll be a beautiful parallel to 4x13, IMO. I'm really confident we're getting at least a kiss before the season ends.

Is this the episode that JM tweeted about a fight with "you know who about you know who about something you don't know about yet."  I'm wondering how and if Caroline finds out about his tryst with Hayley.  Maybe he answers his phone while there because he's trying to hunt down her werewolf clan?
