Fellow Passengers, please fasten your seat belts and listen carefully to the following message from the cabin crew ( forum administrators): This forum is designed to be a place where Klaus and Caroline fans can talk about TVD and discuss a variety of other subjects in a friendly, upbeat, and drama-free environment. Please remember that this forum is viewed by members as young as 13 years old as well as guests of all ages. What one person might see as not offensive may be just the opposite to someone else. We ask that everyone understand this and help keep our forum a clean and fun place. With this goal in mind, the Klaus & Caroline Fans staff have instituted the following rules. These rules are not simply based upon what Proboards (our forum host) requires but reflect the staff's wishes, beliefs, and values as well. By voluntarily participating in this forum you agree to comply, and be bound by, our forum's rules as well as Proboards Terms Of Service and Proboards Community Guidelines. Keep in mind that these rules are intended to be a general guide rather than an exhaustive list and the staff may, from time to time, alter these rules. It is your responsibility to review the rules regularly and ensure your compliance with them. If you do not agree with our forum rules, Proboards Terms of Service, or the Proboards Community Guidelines, please do not join this forum. A member may cancel their membership at any time by clicking on the Profile link and then "edit profile." Under the settings tab, the "delete profile" link is located near the bottom of the page. Once an account has been deleted (either voluntarily or by a staff member) the profile information along with all identifying characteristics, current settings, and post count will be removed. The posts and the content contained in them, however, will not be removed unless it violates the rules in order to maintain thread integrity. - The forum administrators reserve the right to modify, move, or delete any content that is posted on this forum at any time.
- The forum administrators also reserve the right warn, suspend, or permanently ban users who violate the forum's rules, Proboards Terms Of Service, or Proboards Community Guidelines.
- It is the responsibility of each member to regularly check their forum Message Box (PMs) as well as email account for messages from staff, to read these messages, and to respond accordingly.
- Questions and comments regarding these rules or staff decisions should NOT be addressed on the forum but sent directly to the staff via the PM system.
- Attempting to circumvent a suspension by creating another account or through other methods will result in an automatic ban.
- No trolling. A troll is someone who comes in to start trouble. Their main goal is to disrupt the forum, cause fights, and get under people's skin.
- No spamming. Do not use our forum or the PM system to advertise your business, service, website, etc.
- No flooding. Disrupting the forum by deliberately posting repeated irrelevant messages or copies of identical messages is not allowed.
- No additional accounts or account sharing. If you have problems signing in, don't sign up for another account - contact the staff instead and we will help you. If you want to change your screen name, do not sign up for another account. You can change your display name at any time by clicking on "profile"," the edit profile button, and then the "personal" tab.
- Respect the law. Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law or encouraging other users to break U.S. laws or the laws of their country of residence. This includes asking or posting TVD episode download or broadcast links unless they are on the CW's own site (or official sites of international broadcasters, such as CTV and ITV), Amazon, or iTunes.
- Respect our forum's structure by posting in the appropriate areas and staying on topic. Do not derail or 'hijack' threads.
- Refrain from using the forum as a messaging system. Use the PM system for personal conversations.
- Follow standard posting etiquette, such as using readable text, limiting the amount of blinking text/images, and not posting in all caps. When quoting articles from other sites please provide a link back to its source and don't repost the entire article.
- All content, including PMs, must be in English and PG-13 or milder in order to comply with Proboards Terms Of Service and Proboards Community Guidelines.
- Keep in mind that ProBoards "reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any content for any reason" and the forum admins reserve that same right. Furthermore, Proboards list of prohibited content includes content that "is generally offensive or in bad taste, as determined by ProBoards."
- No abusive, defamatory, or threatening content. According to Proboards this includes content that "depicts excessive violence, contains comments or images that are offensive, abusive, threatening, harassing or menacing, or that incites, encourages or threatens physical harm against another. Whether the threatening content is directed at an individual or a character, saying you want or will physically harm someone is NOT acceptable on this forum.
- Do not post material that is hateful or mean in regards to another's race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, political affiliation, handicap, etc. Content that "promotes or glorifies racial intolerance, uses hate and/or racist terms, or signifies hate towards any person or group of people" is prohibited.
- Content that is "obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy or pornographic" is not allowed on this forum.
- Content that "is libelous or defamatory, or violates the privacy or publicity rights of any third party" is prohibited. This includes posting anyone’s personal information (addresses, phone numbers, personal pictures, etc.) without their permission.
- Keep it clean! Do NOT post content or images that contain profanity or derogatory remarks. This includes misspellings, partial words, character substitutions, spacing, or abbreviations.
- If you think a word may be borderline, don't use it. Find alternate methods for expressing yourself that do not include using foul language.
- If the [censored] flag appears in a post, this means that the word originally typed in is on the forum's censored word list. It is the responsibility of members to proofread their own posts. This includes editing posts and removing censored/unacceptable content.
- One word in particular (a derogatory term that Klaus used in reference to Tyler) is NOT allowed on this forum. Some examples of suitable words: darn, dang, heck, pain in the butt, and jerk.
- Do NOT repost character/shipper hate or fights from other forums or sites. Arguments and rants from other sites such as Twitter and Tumblr should stay in their respective locations and not be addressed here in an attempt to fuel ship wars, talk about people behind their backs, or spread hurtful gossip.
- No flaming, baiting, badgering, or insulting others. This includes the cast, crew, writers, other fans, etc. Remember, opinions will vary and shouldn't be taken personally. Name calling will not be tolerated.
- Respect the private lives of others. This includes the TVD/TO cast and crew (and by extension, their family, friends, and significant others) as well as other fans (whether they are members of this forum or not). Speculation and gossip isn't permitted.
- Be a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem. If you see a post that violates the forum rules, please report it to the staff. Do NOT quote or repost content that violates the rules.
- No spoilery content is allowed in profiles or signatures.
- Avatars can be up to a maximum size of 150x150.
- Signature banners can be up to a maximum of 700 pixels wide and 100 pixels high.
- If the size of your avatar/signature exceeds the forum limits or the image links are broken, you may be asked to change or remove them.
- For the safety and comfort of our passengers the posting of TVD spoilers is NOT allowed except in one designed area of the forum called The Runway.
- In the words of Wikipedia, a spoiler is a piece of information about a narrative work that reveals plot events or twists, and thus may "spoil" the experience for any reader who learns details of the plot in this way rather than in the work itself.
- If you are uncertain if something is considered a TVD spoiler then it probably is. Please think about others when posting.
- If you feel you must post something TVD "spoilery" in any other area of the forum you must use spoiler tags. A spoiler tag alerts others to the presence of the spoiler and give them the option of reading it or not.
Easy Method for creating a spoiler tag:- Click on this icon which is located above the message box
- The spoiler tag code will pop automatically into the message box.
- Insert the spoiler content between the opening and closing spoiler tags that are generated.
Alternate Method for creating a spoiler tag:- Klaus & Caroline Fans is a fan forum. It is not connected in any way with the CW, The Vampire Diaries, LJ Smith, or any of TVD cast or crew.
- Any photos or graphics posted on this forum are for entertainment, non-commercial purposes only. If you are the copyright holder and wish to see your content on this forum removed, please contact the site admin.
