The PROMO PICS. *Flails around spastically* Again, they'll probably thumb their nose at my excitement and give me a bunch of pictures of Shane/Silas or something. lol We haven't had a promo pic of Klaus in how long? Since 4x7? And I think that was only the leaked one of him and Caroline, of a scene that didn't even end up being in the show. We had a few promo pics of klaus for 4x14, although one of them was evidently once again a deleted scene. I expect lots of goodies leading up to this episode. EEEEEEK IM GOING INSANE. Maybe a webclip? Why is this so far away? D: watch me miss the live episode cuz of work...again. -__________-

Oh, that's right--the one of him lying on the floor, with Tyler crouching next to him? I always wondered what that was about. Clearly, they're just deleting too many Klaus scenes.

Ok this is random but is there any chance of Elijah-Caroline-Klaus interaction?! Since he's in the ep? THAT'D BE FREAKING AWESOME. Or even better...Bekah, Klaus, Elijah, and Caroline in one scene

Is Elijah in this episode? I thought I read a spoiler that he was going to be, and then I read another one somewhere that said, no, he's not back until 4x18. Maybe I'm getting my spoilers mixed up with speculation. There's so much of both it's hard to keep track of everything.

Lmao maybe he intrudes on a KC moment

RACE FOR THE CURE — Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) take off in search of Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) and find themselves in a small town in Pennsylvania, where Elena has a surprising encounter with another old acquaintance — Elijah (guest star Daniel Gillies). Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are both concerned about Elena’s state of mind and are determined to do what’s best for her, but she makes it clear that helping her will be difficult. Damon is not sure how to react when Stefan reveals his unexpected plan for the future. Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives Caroline’s (Candice Accola) reluctant help and comes to a new understanding of Silas’ powers. I'm sooo happy Caroline is helping Klaus and they're alone!!! Ahhhh bonding time guys! so happy for my babies. I thought the synopsis said Elijah was worried about Elena. I was gonna rage. She killed bby kol. I'd fan girl on twitter but I'm jailed and I hate making tumblr posts on my iPod.

Did they really have to say "reluctant" though? Am I being a pessimist today? I am excited to see them working together though, before 4x14 all their interactions had always been about distraction or what not, now we get to really see them in action and trying to figure out this Silas thing. Don't get me wrong, I love their sweet moments but I want to see them partner up against a "greater evil" LOL. Plus, I'm sure there will be banter and cute moments as well. *squeeeeee*

I didn't take that 'reluctant' bit badly at all. I saw this really plausible theory saying Klaus needs an anchor to his humanity and since he's in love with caroline, he asks for her help. Klaus needs an anchor because if he doesn't, silas will overpower him. Remember how silas messed with Beremy? I REALLY think that's why he asks for help I'm sure they'll bond nicely A-UNIT GUISE. On another note: ELIJAHHHHHHH EEEEK I MISSED MY BBY. SO EXCITED. Kay. Gotta go to work. See ya!

I like the part where they are fighting against Silas together, but the "reluctant" part made me a bit....I don't know. Mad, I guess. In 4x17 Caroline and Stefan convince Klaus that helping them with Silas is the right thing to because it also benefits Klaus. But when Klaus asks for her help, suddenly she doesn't want to?? If that's the case, it makes me feel like nothing at all would have changed between them. JoMo promised it will be good, so I have no doubts it will be, I just am not looking forward to seeing her being all stand offish, crossing her arms, and just helping him because everyone else is out of town. Someone cheer me up! I do wonder about them learning more about how powerful Silas is. I said on tumblr maybe Silas messes with their heads like he did Bonnie's and that's the reason they get physical aka kiss?

I am looking forward to seeing them working together. It's about time she does something more than just bat her eyes at him and thrust out her boobs while the rest of the MF gang sneaks around behind his back. The 'reluctant' part doesn't bother me--after everything that's gone down in the last few episodes, it would be weird if she were super gung-ho about helping him. She just can't bear to let herself go there yet--we've all seen glimpses of reciprocation on her part, but SHE doesn't see it yet, or at least, she doesn't WANT to see it. This is going to take time.

It's not that she doesn't want to help him that bothers me. It's that she went to him for HIS help only one episode before that, but suddenly she can't do the same? Of course, it's all just speculation on my part, since we don't know how they convince him to help in 4x17 and we don't know how reluctant she is about her help in this one. Just on paper it bugs me. It reminds me of how Caroline plotted to stick him in concrete, the next time they saw each other she said she would "never EVER" help him and then turned around and asked that klaus show Tyler the same compassion that she would show him..... ??. It's just the same "I will be nice to you and say nice things to you when I need you for something" that we've been seeing since 3x15. Again, I might be TOTALLY off base, and I hope I am. We're just so late in the ballgame now, that I figured the synopsis would show that. But I am very excited about seeing them actually solve something together. Caroline only does this with Klaus and Stefan and I love it. Her entire relationship with Tyler was keeping stuff from each other or not agreeing with each other's plans. Even when Forwood was working together on the sword, it was actually all Klaus and Caroline.

That was what I loved about that scene--Tyler basically just sort of faded into the background and it was all about Klaus/Caroline.
I agree she tends to come running when she needs help, and then just turns around and starts plotting against him all over again (or at least does not do anything to thwart any plotting in the works), but I think she is ashamed of the fact that she has these brief little moments with him, such as in 4x7, after everything he's done. She sees these little glimpses of humanity, and she thinks there is something there, and then he goes and does something horrible, and she probably thinks, "God, how STUPID I am." In 4x13, right before he bites her, when she is ranting about him thinking his charm is going to get him out of it, to me all that said was that she was really more angry with herself than anything. He wasn't being charming in that moment, he wasn't wheedling, he wasn't smirking, working his eyebrows, sharing little glimpses of another layer beneath the monster--he was more subdued than anything. He sounded wrung out, to me. So for her to suddenly bring up his 'charm' in that moment I thought was strange. I think one of the reasons she was as cruel to him as she was in the beginning of that episode was because she was so angry with herself, for believing in him a little bit, for being a little won over by his drawings, and his hummingbird story, and all the other little pieces of himself he had begun to share with her.

Yes, I love this. I've noticed that Caroline does that a lot, bringing up certain things when she's mad. Calling the drawings "romantic" and in the same breath saying they won't work on her. Bringing up his charm while completely mad at him, etc. I think these are little hints from the writers that "yes, Caroline ISN'T as immune to Klaus as she let's on". I just need really good web clips and stills from this episode to get me back on track.
