I agree Alex. Weren't we told there would be a twist in the S1 person dying? We all expected it to be Klaus. It would've been more surprising if it was an accident, she got caught in the crossfire, or an unexpected person did it. Or all of the above.
I don't know how this will fare for Klaroline. But Mandy is right, Care tried to get him stuck in cement. I think that for all Klaus' distaste over Bek being easy to love, Klaus can be the same way. I noticed tears in his eyes during the killings. He lost his hybrids. Which weren't his to lose anyway, I know. He trusted Stefan and Caroline especially soon after his dessication and what did it get him? He was working with them for the cure and what did it get him?
Mandy....I think Klaus will probably brag about it at some time. And I think you're right. Klefan was the "couple" with the conversation.

Yes, no one did see Klaus kill Carol. And she'd just called Tyler and left him a voice mail message saying she was drunk. It'll probably be called an accident. KStew: I noticed also Caroline and Elena running. I wonder if the Originals don't have a little fun. We've been told that for some reason they are trapped at school. Who is being drowned though? I saw a message on Tumblr saying we were supposed to get lots of Klaroline goodness in Nov and Dec. did you feel like you got it? Also, thoughts on Tyler giving Care the verbal smackdown for telling Stefan about his plans and then them kissing in the bathroom a few minutes later? Uh, well 4x07 was good with K/C but this episode was a bust when it came to that. If that was the only scene we were getting they shouldn't have released it as a webclip. I feel like they did it because they know the ship is popular and people would tune in to watch more. Tyler was a jerk with Caroline and I don't want to talk about that kiss. He only likes her when she's on his side? Some relationship. To me it looked like Jeremy was drowning Professor Shane.

I feel the same. Although it was fitting and in character (and the whole setting with the champagne and the christmas songs was hilarious in a black humor sort of way), it puts a damper on Klaroline and adds more fuel to the Klaus/Tyler war which means more stupid plans from Tyler to kill Klaus and I DO NOT WANT THAT. It becomes increasingly obvious that their vendetta with one of them dead and I'm afraid that won't be Tyler. I'm starting to think so too that in the end it will be Klaus who will die, because he will always be worse than Tyler.....

This whole episode made me very sad, but not because of everything that happened in it. It just had an underlying theme of loneliness, which is kind of intriguing as a lot of people experience the depression of loneliness during the holidays. It was definitely the right episode to do that and I have to commend all those involved with that brilliance. So let's dissect. If I can stop this darn shivering... Klaus. Klauuuuuuus. *shiver shiver shiver* At least they gave my girl Kim a brief shining moment as the last death slot (hybrid wise). But really, all the whoosh and slice and ripping and.... UNGH! I should not be so turned on by a murderous massacre or a blood spattered Joseph Morgan but...can I just lick him clean? Okay. That was over the top disturbing. I'm sorry. I have issues, okay??? Don't judge me. I want to know what Hayley told him exactly to get him to go and kill his hybrids. Just that they were unsired? That seems too anticlimactic. I wonder if she told him about Shane's plan and Silas and the cure? Or at least tried to play it off as such. I love the poetry of him killing of Tyler's mom, not only because of what she said to him - "He's all I have"/"And you're all he has". It's oddly mirroring Tyler and Klaus. Here you have two hybrids, both alpha (or trying to be) and NOW completing the symmetry of having no one to consider near and dear. (I'm not saying Klaus' siblings don't count, but clearly that's what he thinks.) Like, honestly, Klaus' character is probably the best character on the show. And that's not my bias, and not because Joseph does a fantastic job of portraying, but the whole story behind Klaus and who he his, and all of his development is probably the one that has the most depth. There's just so much there and it keeps getting more and more interesting as they open him up more. Klaroline. Being alcoholics is their thing. I approve. His snowflake was pretty though! Not as pretty as Caroline's dress and hair. Girlcrush alert. They were cute though, really. And she felt guilty sending him off to his supposed demise. For a second my heart stopped and I thought she'd tell Stefan that she felt something, even a tiny tingle. But not yet. We'll get there lovelies. Klefan. Admit it, Stefan. He's your BFFLE. He showed you his sword. How much did I LOVE the letters showing up in an episode? And I love the parallel Klaus made between his letters and Stefan's writing names on a wall. There are so many deep rooted nuances in this episode of things that just REALLY hit home and connect. It's fantastic. I love when writing can portray symbolism in blatant but not overpowering ways. Seriously. WHO WROTE THIS EPISODE!?!?! Let's all take a brief moment of silence to acknowledge that Klaus said "RIPPAH" tonight: Thank you. Now, Tyler. I cannot let him go unscathed in this review. There were so many loop-de-loops in this rollercoaster. The martyr thing was idiotic. I mean, yes, I get that he's trying to be the fierce leader and heroic and save everyone from Klaus by stoning himself, but I truly felt Caroline's anger. Come on, bro. The martyr thing's been played out by Elena! His heart to heart with his mom was sweet. Her channeling her inner Richard Lockwood made me smile. But it also made think like.."Uh, his dad treated him like garbage. Sure you wanna be channeling him right now?" I really really truly felt heartbroken with him though when he found all of the dead hybrid comrades. A - because MY HYBRIDS!!!! But B - because that was his big moment. He did so much trying to help them and do right by them rather than Klaus, and it was all for naught. You have to level with the guy here. It sucks. *pats Tyler* There there, baby. I still love you even though I'm sure your too high not on everyone's list currently. *huggles hybrid* Okay, so, time to remember the other lesser players. Jeremy's Biceps. Welcome to The Vampire Diaries The Gun Show! Can I just... *pets* Shout out to Beremy! Yay, it's back! <3 Matt bussing tables and popping up in random frames - like a boss. Hayley, you just signed your death warrant. [censored]ing off both Klaus AND Caroline? It was nice getting to know you. [censored]. Prof Shady. I got this vibe that he's possessed or whatever by the best friend of Silas, if not Silas himself. He knows where the cure is because he went there before? Okay, WHY? Or, considering his line about it being such a burden to love too much, maybe he's the woman that Silas and his best friend both loved. Regardless, the Prof is starting to grow on me a little. It's the snarky attitude, and that's really Damon's instigating so thank Damon! But I mean, we all know I like me some snark. Still don't trust him though. Oh yeah. Elena and Damon. Sadface for Damon having to un-sire her. But I have to give Nina props on her acting because that moment at the car where she was staring at him, you could see the real Elena back in her eyes. It's like the glamour of Damon wore off and she was in control again. That's really tough to pull off correctly and she did that beautifully. I just wonder what happens now for them and Stefan. (Poor baby throwing things all vamp speedy around. So...Stebekah anyone?) Okay. April undaggering Rebekah was probably the best idea ever. I know everyone would have preferred Matt to do it, but I think it was adorable for her little BFF to do it. I really hope the friendship sticks because Beks could use the support. Especially now. But how did April get there or know about it in the first place? Oh, and also. If Tyler was supposed to be the 12th hybrid, then Klaus only killed 11....and Carol. B....rain fart? OH! So, since Carol is now officially well and dead and we have no Mayor for Mystic Falls, might I recommend anyone who has a Tumblr (or doesn't) to visit the link below and join the fun of my Mock Election? /shamelessplug

This is a good blurb I found on Tumblr about Forwood in this episode. Source jennbeebs:
So about Caroline…
This is one of those times that I might be overanalyzing, but there was something off about Caroline this episode. I get being loyal, but Caroline’s inability to ever stick to her guns with Tyler (especially with him acting like a complete megalomaniac) deeply bothers me. She is much, much smarter than that and it’s like…when she wants to make Tyler happy, she completely removes her brain in order to do it.
I want her single. That’s it. I don’t want her with Tyler OR Klaus at this point. Klaus is a mess and a half and he is NOT good for Caroline right now. But Caroline needs to figure herself out and grow up, because one of the saddest parts of the entire episode involved her doing the dance of joy because Tyler gave her some crumbs of approval when she thought up the Rebekah plan. It’s like…I know that she doesn’t love Klaus or anything (and I don’t expect her to), but she did a complete 180 in the middle of the episode and turned into a sycophant for Tyler the second she thought she could please him. Never mind that she later said that she felt bad for Klaus. Never mind that on some level, she KNEW that trying to get rid of Klaus was a terrible idea (or maybe that’s just my misplaced head canon). That scene bothered the ever loving [censored] out of me and pretty much ensured that I will never be able to ship Forwood ever again. That wasn’t romantic, that was SAD.
I’m forever making excuses for Forwood simply because I understand that it’s a young relationship. But it’s so irritating and lazy and forced at this point that it is literally doing NOTHING for the show. Nothing. Just dumbing down my fave, that’s all. Although I LOVED that Stefan made her think a little at the end of the episode. I adore their friendship so freaking much.
Homegirl needs to go on a road trip with Stefan or something and do some self-discovery, because you should NEVER act like a puppy to please a man. Never.

Dee...Caroline thought she compelled April to forget everything she'd heard Caroline tell Stefan over the phone and that she'd seen. But she didn't know April had vervain. I'm sure Bek's location was mentioned sometime during then.
I'm kinda liking Beremy. I never did see the attraction of him with Anna. **hides**.
And I think that he wants to resurrect his dead child and wife that he talked about.

Also, I know the majority of us love Klaus regardless of what he does but I still want to say this. He hasn't changed, he's still a "bad" guy so we shouldn't be surprised when he goes off the rails. Just because we have seen his human side with Caroline doesn't automatically mean that he's completely different and no longer a threat. Tyler was working against him, Caroline and Stefan betrayed him, how else was he supposed to react? He can't change who he is just because he has a crush.
I'm going to say what I've been saying all along (I know I sound like a broken record) but if they didn't want any trouble they shouldn't have gone looking for it. The gang should realize that they messed with Klaus and now they're paying the price. Especially Tyler, he should have been prepared for the consequences and accept them.
Also, Tyler thought they were just going to entomb Klaus and forget about him? Like his blood isn't still the cure for a werewolf bite. Were they planning to drain him before that? I bet it didn't even cross their mind because this group never thinks things all the way through.
I know it was Tyler's mom and when they find out he killed her, Caroline won't be happy. But, Klaus' actions were justified (in the context of the show). We can't apply real life morals to it because these characters are living in a completely different world than ours. There's nothing wrong with recognizing (and we should) when something is wrong; i.e. Damon's abuse of Caroline, killing people purely for revenge, falling in love with mass murderers LOL. But we shouldn't expect the characters to react in a similar way we would in a real life situation.
I still think the K/C ship is going to happen, eventually... but it will.
P.S. Sorry for the essay. It just bugs me when people think Klaus should be a goodie two shoes just because he likes Caroline.

Another thought I saw on Tumblr that I liked. KStew you said something like this in your post.
Like I said earlier. Klaus is finds Bek's ability to love too much distasteful, but he does it himself. Only in this case instead of her family being in danger, other people were in danger for betraying Klaus.

I'm starting to think that Klaus won't tell anything and they'll rule Carol's death as an accident.
I'd rather the truth comes in the open though. Much better than it getting revealed in 4x20 or something.

Klaus CAN play nice, which just makes his character that much more interesting. Dee! I know! I am a shivering, giggling mess. Totally watching that last part again when my husband goes to bed. That way he won't look at me weird.

I do think April will tell Becca. They also tried to harm her brother and like JoMo said in the interview the Originals they can dagger each other but no one else better dagger my sibling. Should be fun but yes it did look like Caroline and Elena or Bonnie running. Something wants them pretty bad and doesn't seem a happy time.

Because ultimately, that's who Klaus is. He has a human side, he has layers, but he's no puppy. And he's certainly not a woobie (but I guess the people who complained about that are now going to complain that he is too evil, right? : . I just hate all these theories I see on tumblr about Tyler getting his revenge e.t.c. If this is Julie Plec's idea of getting rid of Klaus by the end of season 4...hell NO. Tonight it was clearer than ever how big a part of the show he has become. Everything else just seemed so boring to me in comparison to the Klaus plot. Like, this guy is so complex and crazy and awesome to die! And Joseph was just phenomenal. He's always a good actor, but tonight he absolutely killed it (pun intended, I guess?).

No way will JP have Tyler of all people kill Klaus. Klaus has a LARGE fan base. I could almost say larger than Damon or Stefan because those fans seem to be tied up in Elena drama. You can't like Stefan if you like Delena and you can't like Damon if you like Stelena. Or that's how a lot of people act. But with Klaus, you have all the Klaroline fans, but then you have all the DE/SE fans as well. So, if he goes out (and I still say he won't die this season. Why would JP completely turn everything around and keep him if she planned to off him the next season?) it won't be by Tyler, who frankly, seems to be losing fans by the week. It'll probably be something epic, like Stefan..LOL. And then I will die and you guys can all cry at my funeral.
