Surprised this wasn't created yet. While I mostly stay on path with Stelena, if Elejah ever happened I would hop off the Stelena train in a heartbeat and go right aboard the Elejah ship! Wow. That was weirdly metaphoric without meaning to be... REMINDER: Please do not post spoilers in this thread unless you use spoiler tags. I'm not as big of an Elejah shipper as I used to be. That letter of apology Elijah wrote to Elena didn't sit right with me because he was basically apologizing for being forced to defend himself and his family. Elena doesn't apologize for doing whatever it takes to defend her family so why should Elijah?
I'm gonna need to see some growth from Elena before I start shipping her with one of my favorite characters again.

I'm drawing a blank at this letter... o.O He left Elena a letter at the end of "All My Children" apologizing for using her to get the Salvatores to stop Esther from killing him and his siblings. I would have thought it was a sweet moment between them had we later gone a similar scene where Elena apologized for lying to Elijah, but instead the entire situation was treated as if Elijah was wrong for defending himself and his siblings against a group of people that were trying to get them killed. Though even with the issues I have about Elejah now because of that letter, I will say I still think Elijah would be better for her than either of the Salvatores. I think Elena shows a more mature side around Elijah than when she's with Damon or Stefan.

I just enjoy how intrigued by her he's been. I think I began noticing the appeal of an Elejah pairing when rewatching the seasons with my brothers. The scene when they are in the car and she calls Stefan to tell him how she believes Elijah is a man of his word, so on and so forth. I don't know, something in the way he watched her just kind of made me all..fuzzy.

"Klaus" will probably always been my favorite episode because of the Elena/Elijah scenes and it being the first episode we meet Klaus. I really loved Elejah in season 2, but this season when the writers became aware of of the chemistry between these two characters I felt there was something missing from their scenes. Their connection just didn't feel the same to me and I think that may have to do with their semi-friendship feeling a lot more natural to me in season 2 than it does now.

That, and they went a little too coocoo for coco puffs with the Delena vs. Stelena debacle. Could have avoided it all with Elejah, but I guess they did want to get fandoms going and views and all that... It would just work so perfectly for Elijah and his Petrova Doppleganger fetish. I liked how he was stepping up to her about Esther lying at the gala, and that he saw right through her lie. It's funny, I think Elijah has been the only man in Elena's life to a.) work with her, not against her; b.) call her out on her garbage; and c.) be entirely sincere. The only time Elijah deviated from his sincerity was when he acted on impulse saving Klaus due to the fact that he wanted to reunite his family. With Damon and Stefan, they're all "protect Elena", "save Elena", and while at times they can both respect her wishes, they never want her to do what SHE wants to do. Or at least, up til recently. I know Stefan's been working better with her lately, but it all seems to have been to his benefit, not just hers. He lets her do what she wants if it works for what he wants to, i.e. Klaus being killed, so he let her go see Esther. /ramble

While I'm not all "I SHIP IT" status on this, I do find this pairing quite interesting. If it were to happen, I can't say I wouldn't jump on board...

I just hope and pray that Elijah one day will not be put in the serie essentially for the purpose of a plot. What would prove that to me is, if they would give him the opportunity of a love story. I think that in season 2, in the past, when he was talking to Katerina about love, he closed himself to the opportunity, because he was hurt. At that moment, I was hoping for so much .... And then ... Nothing! Sigh... Now, I am hoping that at the end of the complete serie, that he could have a chance to be happy, because of his morality, his righteousness of trying to take the best decision by lowering the risk of anybody being hurt, his love for family ... Should entitle him to be happy.

I think Elena shows a more mature side around Elijah than when she's with Damon or Stefan. I agree about how Elijah writing the letter was like a blow to my stomach! Here was Elijah, who I thought had more to him than that, you know? I thought he would view Elena more realistically than all the other characters do because he had no long term attachment to her because he hadn't grown up with her or wasn't dating her, but that letter made him seem as childish as all the other men in the show, who want to be on Elena's good side, and the fact that it was done in spite of the wrongs she'd done his own family, that just made it worse. Before that letter, I could have shipped Elejah quite easily, but thanks to that letter I can't, because I have this terrible fear that if they let Elijah anywhere near Elena for a long term relationship, then his character could be ruined irrevocably and really, does Elena need any more men in her man harem? Can't the Original men be immune to her "charms" at least? Please?

LOL!! ;D Klaus is clearly, irrevocably immune to Elena's charm, and Kol is immune and Finn (RIP) was immune too. Im actually suprised Kol was immune...he seems to be the type to find alot of women attractive. I get what you mean though. I dont really support this ship romantically because I feel as though that Elijah succumbs to his feelings for Elena to the point where he brushes his beliefs and his family's aside. The letter was sweet, but I felt that the timing was off. Elena had just lied to his face and was gonna get him and his family killed. I dont think he owed her an apology after that mishap. She knew what she was doing. Elijah admires Elena for her morality and it could be argued that he's better for her than Stefan and Damon but Elijah would have to work on himself. Just because he likes her, it doesnt mean that he has to forget who he is and his family. Klaus likes one of the girls from the gang too. But there's the thing: he maintains who he is; a sadistic, manipulative hybrid (who we love) and he actually got angry with Caroline once he found out that she was part of a plan to kill his family. He didnt write a letter saying that he's at fault. "Family above all." He admires her for a lot of reasons but isnt blinded by it. I believe that Klaus likes Caroline more than Elijah likes Elena. Klaus was hurt over Caroline's actions of using his feelings for her against him. He burned drawings of Caroline and let his dissapointment run its course whereas Elijah gave Elena an apology letter. To me, that says "I like you and Im sorry you had to lie to me to get my family and I killed. I shouldnt have scared you either, Im truly sorry" Klaus' actions say "I like you but I hated how you were plotting with your friends to kill me and my family. I failed in trying to burn my feelings for you, but Im gonna give myself space away from you." Big difference there. I have no problem seeing Elijah as Elena's vampire mentor but their relationship shouldnt exceed one of friendship.
