So this thread is all kinds of whacky! Someone fix it because it's messing with my head  Here's the extended promo.
What do you guys think? I said on Tumblr that Caroline is most likely really there ("Klaus receives Caroline's reluctant help") but that he might start imagining things she's saying because of the white oak stake. Also, I feel like Caroline's gonna try to comfort him (promo photo) and bring him back to reality with a kiss.

Why is she saying, "I'll bring you nothing but misery"...omg! Is she possessed by Silas or something...but that's impossible. I'm gonna lose my mind.

Caroline in the promo is a hallucination; for sure. Also, in one still Caroline looks serene and in another, looks emotionless. Silas plays upon worst fears and Caroline saying that stuff to Klaus will break him down and thats what Silas WANTS. REAL Caroline will try to calm him down and try to convince him that she's real and there. MY. CREYS.  This is gonna be intense and I'll probably tear up at the intimacy. LOL  Something IS wrong with the thread...where are all the new posts?  |

I'm so glad this thread is fixed--I thought I was going nuts, until I saw the post on the issues being experienced.
Ok, WTH? I'm really curious now as to how this ep is going to play out. vampdiaries808, I think you're right about what she says being a hallucination--it seems like an odd thing for Caroline to say, and Silas is all about preying on people's weaknesses. Klaus was described as being diseased, so I'm wondering if he is going to experience symptoms similar to a wolf bite, which of course brings on hallucinations as well.

Something just popped in my head. I'm wondering if 4x18 is a screen test to see how Candice and Joseph handle being the main story line. I think last week's epic fail was the one with Hayley/Phoebe. And you see how that went. Candice is in a great position. She is a vital asset to both shows. This is a great theory. I don't doubt that them being a major part of the story line is to go deeper. I think that the writers know that Caroline and Klaus (separately) are fan favorites, and then together, are just amazing. I hope that the episode is huge. I want Caroline to pop up in the Originals, so badly. |

I think I might actually die watching this episode. Someone mentioned on Tumblr that he got staked way lower than that, but I bet the piece of white oak steak is inside him and the poor baby is just trying to take it out himself It really does look like he tried clawing it out himself. Wonder if he grew his wolf fingernails to do so. Also, I think part of Caroline is a hallucination, I do worry about Silas taking over. If he read Rebekah, I imagine he could get into Klaus' mind after he staked him. I just want to point out that Klaus got staked an episode after doing the deed. Perhaps him being celibate kept him on his toes? |

I for sure think Caroline saying that is an hallucination. I don't know, that's just the feeling I get. Her saying that just doesn't fit the theme of the pictures...although we've been burned before on stills. LOOKING AT YOU 4X07. But JP said that Klaus was going to be sick and diseased and the synopsis says that Klaus understands Silas' power..so I think our poor Klaus is about to hear some bad things from a pretend Caroline. I don't think it's actually Silas standing in front of him as Caroline, just Silas sticking those images into his brain.
Although real Caroline and fake Caroline have the same outfit on, so maybe he can't tell which one is real and that's why Caroline is touching Klaus' face. Trying to convince him that she's real and that he's ok.
I don't expect a kiss right yet, but if it happens OH HAPPY DAY.

Still not sure why her help is "reluctant". Maybe she is stinging over what happened in 4x17, but he is STILL the head of her and her friends bloodline. If that piece somehow killed him, then she, Tyler, and all of her friends except Bonnie would expire.
I'm wondering if the klayley tryst will come out. Perhaps as he's talking during his hallucinations. And what would be her reaction.
