MYSTERIOUS ISLAND — Shane (guest star David Alpay) leads an expedition to a desolate island off the coast of Nova Scotia, where he believes the secret of the cure lies hidden. On the trek to the island’s interior, Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) continue their bitter rivalry, Stefan (Paul Wesley) does his best to keep the peace, and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) accuses Shane of leading them into a trap. Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) try to figure out the message of the Hunter’s mark, while Shane reveals more of the legend of Silas and the witch Qetsiyah, along with his own personal history. Back in Mystic Falls, Tyler (Michael Trevino) confronts Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Caroline (Candice Accola) is caught up in the violence that follows. Michael Allowitz directed the episode written by Caroline Dries (#413).

I trust her with my bbys. and Joseph fangirled over this episode. lmfao at a person on twitter saying klaus will kill liz forbes. EL OH EL she isnt even in the episode and she's irrelavent in this situation. Goodness.  |

How is it that Klaus has become so easy for them to fool? You would think getting played a number of times by them would make Klaus more paranoid and less willing to trust them with such important things like helping him find a vampire cure. They've done the same to Rebekah too. She used to be able to tell whenever someone was lying but now anybody and their grandmother can tell a blatant lie to her and she'll buy it. Come on writers. Stop making these [censored] Original vampires look like idiots. |

Since for right now it seems like Klamon are teaming up, maybe Damon is sent there for Klaus? While Klaus stays and watches Little Gilbert? Or maybe Klaus knows it's a dead end? I'll be mad if he's just completely out of the loop.
I'm hoping Kol just takes off again. PLEASE OH PLEASE don't kill him.I will cry buckets of tears. He's my #2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I predict the Klaus/Tyler fight will lead to some wolfing-out. Wasn't that Joseph's big wish for Klaus in season 4( other than a kiss, but we know it's too soon for that )? He kept tweeting that he really liked the episode, that it was rewarding e.t.c. Yep. Wolf Klaus. I have to say, I don't yet share the Tyler-will-win worries that some of you have...I remember JM saying that in the next few episodes Klaus will be willing to compromise a little for Caroline's sake, and we know that Caroline gets caught in the middle of that fight. What if there's where the compromise happens? |

I have been thinking about the "compromise" comment from Joseph as well. I can't think of an instance where we've actually seen this yet. Maybe it's coming up, like Tania pointed out.

That was just my first thought when I read 'caroline gets caught up' in the summary.  and i could see klaus compromising tyler's life for caroline's sake. that'd be big though, considering how [censored]ed he is.  and I think carina could be freaking out about BOTH storylines |
