ehhh I'd rather someone other than Tyler be Damon's drinking buddy. Perhaps KLAUS! #KLAMONFTW And no Meredith! Frankly, I don't like that the writers are intent on "making" someone Damon's new drinking buddy. It worked with Alaric because their friendship happened gradually. I wish they'd just focus on other stuff and allow any new friendships Damon forms with other characters in the future to happen naturally instead of treating it simply as an Alaric replacement because they think Damon "needs" somebody to get drunk and share his feelings with.

You make a good point. You know what guys? Nobody can replace the Alaric in Dalaric. One of the things I miss the most in TVD

Klaus will NOT be in this episode Boring episode will be boring. I loved Alaric, but why do we need an entire episode dedicated to him/other dead ones? We know all Team MF cares about is Elena.

Oh well. But we suspected that already, with him not being mentioned in the synopsis or any of the previews... And I guess that the initial title for 4x03 ("I'm back") was really about Klaus, wasn't it? Not obvious at all. ;D With all the new characters this year I'm afraid that everyone not named Damon/Elena/Stefan will have way less screentime than last season...

I know the triangle will be at the front always bit JP knows how popular the Originals are..especially Klaus. So hopefully she gives fans what we want. Even SE and DE fans are getting worn out with the ping pong game of the triangle.

But April, Hayley, Connor, professor Shane and another dozen new characters that Julie plans to introduce will need screentime to have their stories told, and they're obviously going to take that screentime from the existing supporting cast.

True, however she usually brings on a few to kill them off in a few episodes. I know that wont be the case for Connor and Hayley since we know they will be around awhile and JP said Hayley has a chance at being a series regular.

Klaus will NOT be in this episode I guess that means the "I'm Back" title really is about Klaus. Him not being in the first two episodes could be a positive thing. We won't have to deal with as many Klaus-absent episodes in the middle of the season if the show gets most of those episodes out of the way right now. At least that way they're not pulling the usual "oh Klaus left town for a couple of days, he'll be back soon." They use that excuse with too many of their supporting characters.

Connor won't be sticking around for that long either. The spoilers about him have said he will be a problem for our main characters for a while, but he's not going to be the big villain for this season. Somebody will probably kill him by episode 6 or 7.

Hmm, that's something we've never seen before with any of the vampires. I wonder what the reason is that her body will reject every source of blood she tries. Is she trying to only drink from animals?

I've seen speculation that it is because she's a doppelganger, but that makes no sense. As far as we know Katherine had no problem.

Could Katherine have had a problem with blood that just wasn't shown in the flashback scenes? As far as I can recall, the only person we saw Katherine drink from right after she turned was the old woman who owned the house Trevor and Rose were hiding in. What about that spell Bonnie and John did in season 2 to keep Elena alive by giving her John's soul. Maybe one of the costs of Elena being brought back to life by another human's soul is that she's not supposed to be turned into a vampire.
